National Association of Consumers Direct Plans through All Insurance Network Secure Package
Listening to the doctor telling you that he diagnosed a serious medical condition afflicting you can be a devastating experience. The pain goes beyond the physical, perhaps even leading to depression. Fortunately, there are ways to cope both with the physical and emotional stress of critical illnesses. With all the advances in medical technology, the prognosis may even be bright. You will, however, need all the help you can get. This is where the National Association of Consumers Direct (NACD) Membership Plan Secure Package can be useful.
The package has actually two components – the Critical Illness Insurance and Travel Assist Programs.
The Critical Illness Insurance Program is intended to help you and your family cope with and recover from a serious illness. It pays a one-time lump sum of $10,000 upon the first diagnosis of the illness. You can spend the money as you wish, no questions asked. You can use it to engage the services of the best doctors and medical facilities, travel overseas to ease the mental stress, buy the creature comforts you have always wanted, or do everything on your bucket list. Of course, you can also just sit on it for medical emergencies. The bottom line is it is yours.
Cancer, heart attack, renal failure, stroke, coma, lost of sight, speech, or hearing, a major organ transplant, and quadriplegia are all entitled to the full $10,000 benefit. Paraplegia and hemiplegia receive half of the total, while burns vary depending on the location and extent of the burn.
The benefit is reduced to $5,000 if you reach the age of 65 and it terminates at 70. If the critical illness occurs as a result of a pre-existing condition within 12 months after enrollment, no benefits will be paid.
The other component of the Secure Package is the Travel Assistance Program. Traveling is supposed to be fun and relaxing but it can also be stressing when you have deal with airports, hotels, and car rental agencies that seem to be concerned only with your money and getting you out of their way. It can even be more problematic if you lose your luggage or, worse, your passport. The worst thing, however, that could happen is if you get sick in a foreign land.
NACD’s Secure Package provides assistance coordinators all over the world who can help you with all of these so that you can continue to make the most out of your vacation. The coordinators can also refer you to accredited local physicians and hospitals, or assist you if you need emergency medical evacuation back to the United States.
Enrollment in the Secure Package costs $24.50 a month. If you also want coverage for your spouse, this is increased to $48.00.
From your sick room at the hospital to your bedroom in a foreign hotel, NACD’s Secure Package is always there to provide with the help you need, only for a few dollars a month.
